Kit Harington says Jon Snow is dead, pretends he won’t be back in ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6

Is Jon Snow dead, or isn’t he? Is he coming back to life in Game of Thrones Season 6? These are burning questions every fan of the series probably has, although we feel like they’ve been thoroughly answered so far. Yes, Snow is dead by the hand of his fellow Night’s Watch men. But yes, he’s returning to Season 6, and there’s plenty of evidence saying that he is.

More interesting is the fact that Kit Harington gave an interview on the matter – a rare occurrence following Snow’s death – in which he talked about Game of Thrones and told fans that he won’t return to next season.

But let’s face it, Kit, we know. We’ve seen the leaked photos showing you in uniform, we’ve seen the posters, and we’ve seen the teasers. You are coming back in Season 6.

Harington told Digital Spy that he was actively avoiding the press for the past six months, because of the obvious reasons. “I’ve just hit the ground and gone undercover,” he said. “I’ve tried to do absolutely no press for anything.”

He also revealed that he appreciated the reaction to Snow’s death. “I was hoping that there would be an outcry of ‘why?’ and ‘oh god, no, no’ rather than ‘thank god,’” he said. “That was the right reaction as far as I was concerned!”

“People didn’t want me to die, but he’s dead. So there you go, everyone has to get used to it,” the actor said, which is pretty much what others said before. And it’s likely what happens. Recently, Arya (Maisie Williams) also said that she “can’t say he’s going to be alive” which seemed to be like a proper choice of truth-bending words.

Harington also told Digital Spy that he hasn’t done too much Thrones lately, suggesting he won’t be in the new series. “I haven’t done Thrones in a while. I had quite a lot of time off last year. I’ve been taking it easy. And relaxing,” he said. “When I realized I was doing [Doctor Faustus], I had a few months to prepare for it, and something like this takes some working through before even getting into the rehearsal room.”

Will he watch Season 6 though?

“Yeah, absolutely. Can’t wait for the next season,” he said.
