Kickstarter cofounder and CEO Yancey Strickler has backed almost 1,000 projects on his crowdfunding site. And out of all those he’s pledged money to, his favorite project is not a smartwatch, nor a 3D printer nor a major motion picture.
Rather, Strickler’s favorite Kickstarter project ever enabled a young woman to sail around the world, thanks to a successful campaign back in 2009.
Yahoo Tech interviewed Strickler during a Tech Mix event at the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas. For more on why Strickler found this particular project so special, watch the clip from our interview above. You can view the original Kickstarter project, which is descriptively titled “LET’S SAIL AROUND THE WORLD,” here.
And, finally, our entire interview with the Kickstarter CEO lives right here.
