KGCS-TV off-air due to technical difficulties

JOPLIN, Mo. — KGCS-TV, the campus television station at Missouri Southern State University, is currently off the air due to an equipment failure.

IT department crews are working on a solution to the problem.

The Joplin City Council meeting will be live streamed on the city’s website here.

Newsmakers and other recorded programs are available for viewing on the station’s YouTube channel: KGCS – Missouri Southern State University. Newsmakers will air at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, May 25 on KOAM-TV.

The most recent episode brings focus to the topic of Period Poverty. One quarter of all teen girls struggles to afford products needed to deal with menstruation. It’s a problem for one third of adult women. It is a problem compounded by the fact that period products are taxed as a luxury item throughout the four-state region. Students in the MOSO Caps program at Missouri Southern State University are working to solve the problem.
