Hyundai, GRPD to offer anti-theft upgrades at downtown event

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Hyundai Motor America and the Grand Rapids Police Department will offer free anti-theft software upgrades at a three-day event downtown.

Vehicle theft problem persists in Kent County

GRPD says the software update will help combat a method of theft that has been spreading on social media.

Mobile service technicians will be at 555 Monroe Ave. NW, near Trowbridge Street, to install the upgrade, the city announced Wednesday in a release. The update is expected to take less than half an hour, and Hyundai owners who attend will also get a free steering wheel lock.
