AUSTIN, TX / ACCESSWIRE / March 10, 2015 / Anthony Mattana, Founder-Chief Executive Officer of Hooke Audio and inventor of the Hooke VERSE -- the world's first mobile 3D audio Bluetooth recording system for the mass market - has joined the SXSW 2015 panel Augmented Reality And Virtual Reality: Moving Beyond the Square Screen to take place Monday March 16 5:00PM-6:00PM at the Four Seasons San Jacinto. Moderated by veteran deal-maker Steven Masur, Partner at CDAS Venture Law Group, the session will explore the coming wave in wearable tech, advanced mobile devices, and 3D holographic projection destined to bring audiovisual content previously trapped in a picture-like two dimensional frame into the world around us.

In addition to Mattana and moderator Masur, session panelists also include Allen DeBevoise, Founder and Chairman of the super successful videogame multichannel network (MCN) company Machinima, and Gaia Dempsey, co-Founder of the industrial and entertainment-oriented augmented reality company DAQRI.

The stylish VERSE Hooke Audio headset incorporates specially-designed binaural mics that capture audio exactly the way it is being heard by the wearer - the way the ear actually captures sound. Hooke Audio's integrated app allows users to record, edit, and trim Mobile 3D Audio, then pair it with the smartphone's video camera to upload to social networks or live streaming. In playback, Hooke recorded 3D sound can be heard with any stereo headset or speaker configuration. Unlike Surround Sound technology, the Hooke Audio system does not require multiple speakers or special headphones.

SXSW 2015 is the world's leading music and technology industry event, boasting over 2,000 regional, national and international acts at the nighttime music festival as well as exploring the future of the music industry during the day at panels, talks, the Trade Show, Music Gear Expo, and other conference activities at the Austin Convention Center. SXSW Music takes place on Tuesday, March 17 - Sunday, March 22, 2015 in Austin, Texas.

"The Hooke Audio technology addresses the critical missing link in AR and VR, spatial sound, which allows you to hear things where you see them, and it does it in a usable, affordable, portable, package. Anthony Mattana is a unique and visionary audio specialist. A musician/composer as well as recording engineer who has devoted himself to delivering audio that captures the world as we hear it. Hooke Audio represents the biggest shift in how we experience sound since the introduction of stereo sound, and we are thrilled to have him part of our panel at SXSW," said Masur.

"I am excited to be part of Steven Masur's panel focusing on the coming technology wave that will allow us to see and hear produced content just as we see and hear in real life. Hooke Audio represents this unprecedented wholly disruptive technology in the area of audio, virtual reality and augmented reality - the days of flat left/right audio are now numbered," said Mattana.
