‘Guitar Hero’ Shredder Records Hilarious Response to YouTube Yanking His Video

Ironically named YouTuber GuitarHeroFailure recently beat Ozzy Osbourne’s classic rocker “Bark at the Moon” in Guitar Hero: Smash Hits on Expert difficulty, nailing 100 percent of the notes. That’s no easy feat, so like any proud gamer, he chose to share his accomplishment with the world by posting a video on YouTube.

But faster than you can say “fair use,” his clip was yanked from YouTube due to copyright infringement. It’s unclear exactly how this happened; most likely, it got flagged by YouTube’s wacky copyright bots, not, like, Ozzy or a real, breathing person working for Guitar Hero publisher Activision.

Lame? Absolutely. But inspiration is often born of frustration, and from the ashes of his since-deleted video rose a video that is without question more entertaining.

Yep, that’s him singing through the insane guitar part in “Bark at the Moon.” Better still, turn on closed captioning to see YouTube’s captioning tech desperately try to keep up with his vocal stylings. “Bob Bob Bob Bob Bob bobbin a bit of an elaborate a little bit about that about” might actually be a Red Hot Chili Peppers lyric. Maybe they should sue YouTube?

We bow to you, GuitarHeroFailure, for both sticking it to YouTube’s stupid random copyright takedowns and making us laugh and laugh and laugh. Here’s hoping YouTube yanks your incredible “Cliffs of Dover” playthrough next. We want to hear you sing it.

Ben once got a 92 percent on Expert “War Pigs” in Guitar Hero II. Tell him it’s no big deal on Twitter at @ben_silverman.
