According to Xbox boss Phil Spencer, there's no need to worry about delays to Project Scorpio for now.

When quizzed on Twitter about potential changes to the console's launch date, Spencer responded: "Schedule looks very good right now, no issues."

Project Scorpio was announced at E3 last year and is slated for a winter 2017 release, just in time to fill oversized stockings across the globe.

Since last year's E3, we've learned a great deal about Microsoft's new console, mostly thanks to an unveiling of the console's specs conducted in partnership with Digital Foundry last month.

Scorpio is built with a GPU 4.5 times faster than that within the original Xbox One. It also features a more powerful CPU, and greater amounts of speedier RAM.

Digital Foundry's Richard Leadbetter saw a test set-up running a version of Forza Motorsport in 4K at 60fps during a visit to Xbox's Redmond campus.

The technical specs are out there, but Microsoft's information splurge in April fell short of a full reveal. The complete picture, including price, name and visual design, is expected at a press conference just before E3 next month.

Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference begins at 10am BST on June 11.
