Get 2014 Election Results Yo’d to You

Election Day 2014 is here and all eyes are on the hot races across the country that will determine which political party will take control of the U.S. Senate.

If you want to follow the results using your smartphone, you could get on Twitter for real-time news, or check out Yahoo News’ live-tracking States of Play election site.

But what if you’re not quite a numbers person and, in fact, don’t like words that much either? Luckily, 2014’s tug-of-war for congressional power is also being tracked on everyone’s favorite do-it-all/do-nothing app: Yo.

Yes, the “zero-character” app Yo — once believed to have been launched as an April Fools’ prank — is now positioned to deliver Millennials their midterm election results.

USA Today last week announced that it was creating two Yo Categories, YODEMS and YOGOP, which would send a Yo to followers each time one of the parties officially wins a Senate seat. So, instead of gluing yourself to CNN.com for all of Tuesday night’s hard numbers and actual results, you can relax and wait for the Yos to come in, which will of course offer no needless information like who actually won or how much of the vote was garnered.

Because Yo.

In all seriousness, it’s actually unclear whether USA Today will make use of Yo’s category-side features that allow for the sending of webpage links to Yoers like you and me. The publication makes use of this functionality with its YOTAKE category, which sends out the “day’s best reader photos” via a Yo.

Whether you decide to get out the Yo this election cycle or participate in politics as usual, we can probably all agree that the state of our country feels a lot like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ right now.
