Galaxy Tab S3 With S Pen Photo Leaks Ahead Of MWC Debut

Ahead of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3's appearance at MWC 2017, a photo of the device has leaked online.

Samsung is rumored to be unveiling a new high-end tablet during its appearance at the Mobile World Congress later this month. The device is expected to be the successor to the Galaxy Tab S2, so the expectations are high for this tablet. If previous leaks and reports are to be believed, the Galaxy Tab S3 can exceed expectations given its specs and features. Interestingly, there’s more to this tablet than just being a multimedia slab. And this is proven by the latest leak about the device.

On Monday, Roland Quandt, a tech reporter of German website WinFuture, published a story and leaked a never-before-seen render of the Tab S3. This new leak confirms the addition of Samsung’s S Pen stylus to the tablet. What’s interesting here is the fact that the device does not have a slot for the pressure-sensitive stylus. Hence, Quandt says it will be “transported separately.”

The inclusion of a stylus is a clear sign that the Tab S3 will offer more than the typical Android tablet experience. Quandt stated on Twitter that the S Pen that will complement the new Samsung tablet will be “gigantic” or in other words “usable.” However, since this stylus does not have a designated slot on the Tab S3 hardware, consumers shouldn’t expect the automatic Air Command feature found on the Note 5 to be part of the high-tech slab.

Other revelations about the upcoming tablet include the confirmation that there won’t be a white model. Instead, Samsung has decided to introduce the new silver variant while retaining the black model of the tablet series. There is also word on the South Korean brand’s decision to ditch the tablet 8 variant of the series. This means there won’t be a “Galaxy Tab S3 9.7” moniker for this year; the device will simply go by the Galaxy Tab S3 name.

When it comes to the specs and features of the Tab S3, SamMobile reports it will come with a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536. The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, and it will come with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal flash memory. There is also mention of a 12-megapixel back camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie shooter.

The Tab S3, which already received certifications for WiFi and Bluetooth, is reportedly retailing for around $600. To be specific, U.S. retailers are saying that the new tablet will be valued at $580 when it officially launches.
