Samsung will reportedly unveil the phone at a special New York event on March 29, which lines of with many of the previous Galaxy S8 rumors we've heard. While Samsung's Mobile World Congress press conference next week will likely focus on the Galaxy Tab S3, there's a chance the company might tease the S8's release date at the tail end of it.

Based on rumored specs, the Galaxy S8 could be the new Android phone to beat. The handset is expected to feature a slick, nearly borderless design that features a virtual home button in place of physical keys. Other potential key features include an improved dual-lens camera, a blistering Snapdragon 835 chip and a special dock that lets you use the S8 as a desktop PC.

The phone may even feature an advanced AI called Bixby, which could rival virtual assistants such as Siri and Alexa.

That's not to say the Galaxy S8 won't have any competition when it hits shelves. The same ETNews report suggests that the LG G6, which could pack a wide-lens camera and a one of a kind 18:9 display, will launch on March 10. There's also the upcoming HTC U Ultra, which promises to feature an advanced virtual assistant, as well as the HTC 11, which could feature S8-like power when it hits later this year.
