Galaxy S8 and S8+ specs confirmed by newly leaked benchmarks

You probably weren’t aware of this since it’s the best-kept secret in the smartphone industry right now, but Samsung is on the verge of unveiling two brand new Android flagship phones. Okay, so it’s actually the worst-kept secret in the smartphone industry, and we know practically every single thing there is to know about the next-generation Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ handsets. That doesn’t make them any less exciting, of course, and it also doesn’t mean the leaks are finished. These two hot new devices will continue to leak right up until Samsung officially announces them during its big Unpacked press conference on Wednesday, and we’ve got a handful of hot leaks for you to enjoy on Monday.

We already showed you some stunning high-resolution photos that show the Galaxy S8+ like you’ve never seen it before, and we showed you a monster specs leak from this past weekend. Of course, reading specs is one thing, but seeing them confirmed in some newly leaked benchmark tests is another.

With Wednesday’s big event just around the corner, Android fans are more eager than ever to get their first official glimpse of Samsung’s new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Of course, unofficial glimpses have not been difficult to come by over the past couple of months. A steady trickle of leaks and rumors led up to the live Galaxy S8 photos that BGR exclusively published during MWC 2017, and the floodgates opened from there.

We’ve seen all there is to see and we know just about all there is to know, but a little extra confirmation never hurt anyone. With that in mind, well-known benchmark testing platform AnTuTu decided to get in on the action on Sunday with a blog post sharing official benchmark listings for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

The US and global models of both phones are represented here, with the key difference of course being the processors that power them. In the US, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will both be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset, while the global models will include Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 SoC. Performance should be comparable between the two versions of each phone.

You’ll find screenshots from all four listings below, and that should help tide you over until Samsung unveils the new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ on Wednesday. Both phones are then expected to be released on either April 21st or April 28th.
