‘Edward Snowden’ Has a Tinder Account, and It’s Hilarious
It looks like Edward Snowden is seeking asylum — in some lucky gal’s heart.
At first glance, it might seem as though the exiled American best known for outing the NSA’s online spying practices has covertly joined Tinder. Unfortunately for Snowden-philes, it’s just a satirical account. First brought to our attention via a reddit thread showcasing the “lonely_ed” dating account on the popular hookup app, Ed’s interactions with the ladies of Tinder are actually pretty hilarious.
The “Snowden” Tinder account was created by writer/director Ross Cohen. (You can see his Twitter account here, and his Vimeo videos here.) It uses the famed NSA leaker’s head shot and lists his bio as “Good with computers. Optimist. Love to travel.” Accurate!
Cohen is just having a bit of fun, of course, as evidenced by several of the conversation screenshots he’s shared online. Here are some of our favorite responses from the surprisingly aggressive women Lonely Ed has chatted with.

Some were understanding that Ed is sensitive to speaking too openly.
Because, yes, even the fake Edward Snowden is a little jumpy with whom to share new information.
And then there were some poor Tinder women who just didn’t get the joke, nor do they seem to get that Tinder is a location-based dating service.
