DJI sells new filmmaking drone with rooftop karate and stunt racing
How do you sell Hollywood directors on a new drone designed to shoot epic movies? By including ancient martial arts on rooftops, of course.
That's what leading drone maker DJI did on Sunday when it introduced its new Matrice 600 (aka the M600) drone via an inspiring video on YouTube. The video shows off the drone's ability to move high-end movie cameras into angles that provide far more immersive and dynamic movie visuals.
"The M600 is the most-powerful and easiest-to-use professional platform DJI has ever produced," Paul Pan, DJI's senior product manager said in statement released on Sunday. "We’ve pre-programmed all M600 platform data and information into the A3 flight controller, remote and transmission system to minimize setup and get you flying as quickly as possible."
According to DJI, the drone can carry cameras weighing just over 13 pounds and can fly from 16 to 36 minutes, depending on the type of pro camera attached to its base. The sexy new filmmaker's drone is selling for $4,599 via DJI's website.
