Decatur EV survey accepting last submissions

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Wednesday is the last day for the public to submit feedback about electric vehicle infrastructure in Decatur.

The city opened a survey at the start of the month to learn where charging stations and other infrastructure would be best deployed in Decatur. Officials said the feedback would help their consultant better identify information, electric grid and infrastructure needs in Decatur and Macon County.

The consultant will then use that feedback to prepare an Electric Vehicle Readiness Plan (EVRP) with funding support from the Illinois Department of Transportation. The EVRP, officials said, will put Decatur in a better position to obtain grants for future EV infrastructure.

The survey, which will take only five minutes to fill out, can be found by clicking here.
