Culture Curator Daisy Morris Shares Her Top Tips for Creating Content On-The-Go

Today, crafting videos and images for your Instagram, TikTok and other social media platforms is undoubtedly the norm, but it’s perhaps less common to create content about creating content. This, in essence, is the job of strategist and curator Daisy Morris.

Having started out as a freelancer, advising start-ups on online content, she now runs The Self Hood, a business that delivers strategies to both small companies as well as global organizations. The success of The Self Hood can be attributed to Morris’ ability to stay across the latest branding trends. From discovering unique brand identities to understanding new online media, she has found ways to channel these trends into eye-catching content with the help of Adobe Express to speed up content creation and publish on-the-go.

Taking a closer look at how she approaches new projects, Hypebeast spent a day with the creative, following her to a campaign shoot for a mental health charity she designed merchandise for. For Morris, the day begins in the park where she heads out for a 5k run to clear her mind before the shoot. Once back, it’s straight out of her running gear and into a comfy outfit, perfect for the long day ahead.

As the shoot gets into full swing, the creative places herself behind the camera to direct the photographer. Alongside coordinating the shoot, Morris snaps behind-the-scenes shots on her phone and quickly edits these into engaging social assets using the Adobe Express mobile app. The library of graphics combined with Adobe’s own templates means that she can drag and drop designs to execute social posts while on set.

Morris also plays around with the pre-set features within the app’s video tools. Creating and editing clips from scratch with the tools, she shows how to seamlessly make professional Instagram reels and TikTok shorts. To finish, the creative draws inspiration from Adobe Firefly’s AI powered 'text generation' feature to complement her content with a snappy caption.

After bringing her ideas to life, she uses the content scheduler within the Adobe Express app to publish on multiple channels at once, before heading back to East London. Being able to create her social posts during the shoot means Morris can relax at home without spending her time in front of the screen – a dream evening for every creative.
