Comcast expanding to 12,000 additional homes and businesses around Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR)—Comcast announced an expansion of its network to 12,000 additional homes and businesses across the Lynchburg area on Thursday, April 4.

This project is part of Comcast’s ongoing expansion in Virginia, where the company has invested more than $781 million in technology and infrastructure over the last three years, including upgrades to its local network.

Here are the areas around Lynchburg that were involved in this expansion:

  • Campbell County: Xfinity and Comcast Business services are now available to 6,700 additional homes and businesses.

  • City of Lynchburg: 2,100 additional homes and businesses are expected to Comcast Servies by the end of 2024. Construction is underway and services are available to some homes and businesses.

  • Forest: Comcast is bringing advanced products and services to 3,200 additional homes and businesses by 2025. Construction has begun and services are already available to some homes and businesses.
