The city of Pensacola says this new monitoring program offered through TransUnion, is in place following the network security incident that happened last month.

“Since the beginning of this incident, we’ve been committed to keeping our employees, customers, and citizens informed as to how we respond. While we cannot be certain personal information has been taken, out of an abundance of caution, the City of Pensacola is providing credit monitoring,” said Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves.

Letters are set to be mailed out this week to both citizens and employees with detailed instructions on how to participate in the monitoring program, according to the release.

In addition to the monitoring, officials say a dedicated toll-free response line has been set up to deal with the aftermath of this incident. The phone number is 1-833-543-2815.

According to the release, the phone line, available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central Time Monday through Friday excluding holidays, helps the city to better track and respond to questions and concerns.
