Ever wonder how to use those super-quick keyboard shortcuts that you see all your tech-savvy friends using? You know, the ones where they press a bunch of buttons and can take a screenshot, open a new browser tab, or hack the Matrix?

Well, good news: There’s a desktop app called CheatSheet that shows you the exact button combinations to push to make navigating your Mac that much faster. Once installed, you just press a single button on your keyboard, and CheatSheet provides you with a huge list of keyboard shortcuts for whichever program you’re in at the moment.

To use the app, you simply hold down the Command key, and the CheatSheet window pops up complete with every button combination available for the program you’re currently accessing. Let go of the Command key, and CheatSheet disappears instantly.

CheatSheet is most useful with programs like Word and Excel, where you spend a lot of time behind the keyboard. That said, it’s also helpful for programs like Chrome and Safari, which have a host of shortcuts that make browsing the Web way faster than the ol’ mouse.

CheatSheet is free to download. Check it out at CheatSheetApp.com for more information.
