The king of the tech-centric Teutonic coupes is back.

Audi pulled the covers off both its all-new A5 and S5 Coupé on Thursday afternoon, nine years after the marque was created.

Sporting a new chassis, new engines and improved styling there's little to dislike about the two-door duo. Although the A5 is impressive in its own right, it's the S5 Coupé that has me salivating.

First off, let's start with its interior, which takes Audi's position at the peak of the industry for interior design and pushes it further up the mountain.

Not only does it feature an 8.3-inch display in the center of the dashboard, the new cabin also includes an optional 12.3-inch instrument cluster display that Audi calls the Virtual Cockpit.

Audi's MMI infotainment system can be controlled from the center console-mounted rotary dial complete with touchpad or through natural language commands like, as Audi points out, “I would like to call Peter.”

Intriguingly, Audi will also allow the cars to be controlled remotely by MMI connect app, which can be installed on a smartphone smartwatch or even Apple TV. Imagine, you could lock and unlock, locate, or monitor vehicle status on from the comfort of your couch.

Since the chassis of the A5/S5 has been extended and the wheels pushed further to all four corners of the car, the interior benefits from extra passenger space.

Underneath the longer hood and bigger, flatter single frame grille is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 354 horsepower. Routed to all four wheels through an 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission, that power will push the S5 to 62 mph from a standstill in 4.7 seconds.

Audi has also fitted the coupes with up-to-the-minute safety technology. That means it has Stop&Go adaptive cruise control and active lane assist that helps keep the car on track in the driving lane.

Audi hasn't given any pricing information on the new A5 or S5 Coupé. It'll likely save that information for a bit closer to the on-sale date. And although it hasn't said when either of these beauties will hit American shores, it has said they'll go on sale in Germany in the fall of 2016. So, you can expect them to be introduced in the U.S. not long after, I'd wager.
