This week, we got a first look at Apple’s super powerful, ultra-thin iPad Pro (and iPad Air). Amazon also found a way to jam even more ads into Prime video. And finally, our review of the highly anticipated Rabbit R1 AI Companion. Let’s just say it won’t be replacing your smartphone anytime soon.

We’ve long anticipated this new OLED iPad Pro, growing almost bored with the wait, and yet the new tablet announcement was weighty enough that it still managed to leave us winded. Sure, the updated iPad Air with M2 and a 13-inch variation would be par for the course for Apple’s standard refreshes, but the iPad Pro now has an OLED screen, a new M4 chip, and a slimmed-down chassis. All that combined, and it’s certainly the most exciting iPad announcement since the Cupertino company shared the details on its first tablet. Oh, and that’s not all. The new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil could push the iPad’s versatility far beyond even a MacBook Air. — Kyle Barr

I was pretty excited about my Rabbit R1 review unit and planned on checking it out for a whole week. My plans included using it outside around the city, inside of the house as an all-day companion, and playing around on it with my friends. Sadly, I quickly ran out of things to do on it. The latest versions of the iPad Air and iPad Pro have effectively discontinued any Apple tablet with a headphone jack. I know, I know, that slow march away from dedicated audio jacks has been trending on for the last decade, as much as we might miss them. It seems audiophiles who want wired audio devices may be in luck. Noted audio device maker Moondrop has a phone with two headphone jacks and a design that seems tailor-made to appeal to sound hounds. — Kyle Barr

The Asus ROG Ally is barely a year old, but the gaming handheld built to rival the Steam Deck (at least, the one that came the closest to dethroning Valve’s handheld goliath) is coming back with an upgrade. Details are rather sparse, but the update could include a new coat of paint, better storage, more RAM, and—perhaps most importantly for users—a microSD slot that won’t ruin your cards. — Kyle Barr

I’m a bad son when it comes to gifting. Maybe you’ve also struggled to do more for your mom every Mother’s Day since it was no longer acceptable to offer her your scribbled crayon drawings. Or maybe your wife, the mother of your children, is expecting something more than just a nice dinner this year. — Kyle Barr
