Apple Apologizes for iOS 8.0.1 Bug, Promises to Release an Update ‘in the Next Few Days’

After releasing a buggy iteration of its new mobile operating system, Apple has apologized and set up a support page for anyone affected by the error.

Those iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners who were unlucky enough to have downloaded iOS 8.0.1 when it was released to the public yesterday reportedly lost cellular service and the ability to use the device’s Touch ID. The supposed “fix” was meant to patch a number of issues in the original software.

If you haven’t already, you can now reinstall iOS 8 via iTunes by following these Apple-approved instructions. 

“We apologize for the great inconvenience experienced by users, and are working around the clock to prepare iOS 8.0.2 with a fix for the issue,” an Apple spokesperson told Re/code. “And will release it as soon as it is ready in the next few days.”

Reports of this bug came amid another unsavory piece of news for the company: Owners are reporting that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are bending in their pockets.

Needless to say, this is not Apple’s week.
