With the news that the selfie stick has been banned at the Palace of Versailles and the National Gallery of London, it’s clear that prohibitions on the selfie-taking accessory are now a global phenomenon. Museums and sporting venues and music festivals and arenas all across the world have banned selfie sticks, just as these once-peculiar devices are rising to popularity and social acceptance.

What follows is a list of locations around the world that have banned the use of selfie sticks. Consider this a service both for those who own selfie sticks, as well as for those who want to visit museums without being poked in the back of the head by them.
