2025 Chevy Equinox Starting Price Rises $2000 to $29,995
The 2025 Chevy Equinox has a base price of $29,995, which is $2000 more than the outgoing 2024 version.
With the old entry-level LS trim getting dropped, that leaves the LT as the Equinox's new entry point, and it's actually $895 less than before.
The sporty RS and outdoorsy Activ are the two other trim levels, and they both start at $34,395; all-wheel drive is a $2K option on every '25 Equinox.
The redesigned Chevy Equinox costs more than before, but that kind of depends on how you look at it. Chevrolet has released pricing for the boxier new version of its compact SUV, which starts at $29,995. While that means it now costs at least $2000 more to get into the least expensive Equinox, the old entry-level LS trim has been dropped, making the LT the new entry point. Compared with its predecessor, the 2025 Chevy Equinox LT actually costs $895 less. See? It's all about perspective.
The rest of the '25 Equinox lineup includes the sporty RS and outdoorsy Activ trim levels. Both start at $34,395, so it really comes down to personal preference. The RS has a unique grille and rides on standard 19-inch wheels, but 20s are optional as is a contrasting black roof. On the other side of the showroom, the Activ has 17-inch wheels mounted on all-terrain tires and can be had with a contrasting white roof for an additional fee.
Every Equinox comes standard with a 175-hp 1.5-liter turbo four that's ported over from the outgoing version. It now pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) versus a six-speed automatic. There's also a chance that GM might introduce a plug-in-hybrid variant. For now, the gas-fed Equinox is available with either front- or all-wheel drive. The latter includes more torque (203 versus 184 pound-feet), but opting for AWD also tacks an extra $2000 onto the bottom line.
With the addition of the 2025 Equinox, Chevy now offers three SUVs that start under $30K; the subcompact Trax and squarer Trailblazer have base prices of $21,495 and $23,395, respectively. Then there's the upcoming Equinox EV, which has starting prices that range from $43,295 to $46,795 when it goes on sale. Meanwhile, the new gas-powered Equinox is now available to order, with first deliveries slated to take place later this year.
