With the mobile phone replacing the wristwatch as the modern person’s timepiece, the wrist itself is a battleground for new technology. Many companies are making “smartwatches” that not only tell time, but also connect with their owners’ smartphones to relay information to the wearer, control the phone, and track activities for fitness and health.
