11 Things to Stop Saying to Android Users in 2016

From Seventeen

Okay, it's 2016, and it's time to accept something: the iPhone is not the only phone in the world. Android is not inferior to the iPhone. So when it's revealed to you that someone has an Android phone, it's time to stop responding with these totally outdated, not to mention, condescending, remarks. Because Frankly, Android shaming is getting really old.

1. "The app is only available in the Apple App Store..." *crickets* *crickets* Soooo, no Android app? You know how many users you're neglecting by not making an Android App, big shot app company?! A LOT.

2. "Android always copies Apple." Really now? Google and Apple are constantly at each other's necks trying to beat each other to the next life-changing smart phone feature. Sure, Apple beats Google to the punch every now and then, but Google has beat Apple to the punch countless times as well. Multi-tasking, drop-down notifications, customizable wallpaper, widgets, a lowercase keyboard - all features Android had first.

3. "Apple's better because everything syncs on iCloud." Same can be said for Android phones and Google Drive.

4. "How can you live without iTunes?" Google has its own music store called, Google Play. And at least Google let Apple phones have a Gmail app out of the goodness of their hearts, because what would you do without Gmail?!

5. "Who uses Android?" Ummm, everyone? Actually, about 83% of smartphone users in the world are Android users.

6. "But you don't have Siri." No, but we have Google Now, which does the same thing... literally.

7. "Your camera is too confusing." It really isn't. You point and and press the big button on the bottom/left. It's not rocket science!

8. "Android is too slow/laggy." How can you say that with any authority? You're an IPHONE USER. My phone performs just find, thank you.

9. "Do you have a charger?" *sighs when they find out you don't have an iPhone* Like, sorry I chose a different operating system than you. I didn't mean to offend you.

10. "You're going to switch to Apple sooner or later." Condescending much?Actually, I really love Android and have no plans of switching.

11. "Apple is so much better though." As my mom would always says, "You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts." Let's just leave it at that.
