10 Places You Can Buy the New iPhone on Friday (Besides the Apple Store)
Perhaps this describes you: You’re getting the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus. You’ve read all the reviews, and now you’re more positive than ever that one of these smartphones will be yours.
You don’t want to wait to get your new electronic companion, either. You want that thing the minute they go on sale Friday, Sept. 19. But the preorders are backed up until October, and you don’t want to camp outside an Apple Store all night to get one.
So where can you buy the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus this Friday? As it turns out, pretty much anywhere. So forget the long lines and head to one of these places for your new iPhone.

CARRIER STORES
AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon will all have the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in stock on Sept. 19. That means you can just walk into one of these carriers’ stores and buy your new iPhone without having to navigate the Apple Store. (It’s always a good idea to call ahead to all of these stores, of course.)
AT&T

AT&T is offering a trade-in deal that can get you up to $300 in-store credit for your iPhone 5s and up to $200 for your iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, or iPhone 4. With a two-year contract, you can snag the 16 GB iPhone 6 for $199 or $0 down with 24 monthly payments of $27.09 on AT&T’s Next early upgrade plan.
A 16 GB 6 Plus goes for $299 with a two-year contract, or 24 monthly payments of $31.25 on AT&T’s Next plan.
Sprint

Sprint is selling the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus with the carrier’s new iPhone for Life plan, which lets you lease an iPhone with unlimited talk, text, and data for $70 per month. You can also get the 6 or 6 Plus on Sprint’s Easy Pay Installments plan, which requires $52 down and 24 monthly payments of $77.09 per month for the phone and unlimited, talk, text, and data.
There’s also a standard two-year agreement plan that costs $199 up front for the 16 GB iPhone 6 and $299 for the 16 GB iPhone 6 Plus. Monthly payments for that plan break down to $85 per month.
T-Mobile
The “Un-carrier” is selling a 16 GB iPhone 6 for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $27.08. Add in the carrier’s 1 GB Simple Choice Plan, and you’ll pay $77.08 for 24 months and $50 per month after that.
The iPhone 6 Plus will cost you $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $31.24. Top that off with a 1 GB Simple Choice plan, and you’ll pay a total of $81.24 per month for 24 months, after which you’ll pay $50 per month.
T-Mo is also offering a special trade-in promotion that will see the carrier match any competitor’s trade-in value for an eligible smartphone. T-Mobile will then take the difference between its trade-in value and the competing carrier’s value off of your upcoming bill and then give you an additional $50 off.
Verizon
Verizon is selling the 16 GB iPhone 6 for $199 with a two-year contract and the iPhone 6 Plus for $299 with a two-year contract. Get the iPhone 6 on Verizon’s Edge plan, and you’ll pay $32.49 per month plus an additional $80 per month for 2 GB of data. The iPhone 6 Plus will cost you $37.49 per month on the Edge plan plus $80 for 2 GB of data.
Verizon is also offering up to $200 toward the purchase of an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus for customers who trade in a preowned iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, or iPhone 4.
RETAIL STORES
We’ve confirmed that Best Buy, RadioShack, Staples, Sam’s Club, Target, and Walmart will also be selling the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus on launch day as soon as their doors open. What’s more, most stores will be offering some kind of deal when you drop some cash on these handsets.
Best Buy
The big blue box store is selling the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus as soon as doors open on Sept. 19. Pricing for each of the phones is dependent on the carrier you choose. In terms of in-store bonuses, Best Buy says it is offering up to $200 in gift cards for select smartphone trade-ins that you can then use toward the purchase of a new phone on a two-year contract.
RadioShack
The Shack is going all out for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The store is offering customers a $50 iTunes gift card with the purchase of a new iPhone, and promises to give you at least $100, and up to $300, if you trade in your working iPhone 5 for an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. As with Best Buy, pricing for the phones is dependent on your carrier.
Staples
Yeah, they’ve got that. The retailer is offering two deals for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The first deal banks you a minimum of $30 when you trade in a qualifying laptop and at least $50 for a qualifying smartphone. The store says it will also buy your iPhone 5 for as much as $280. Of course, all that money comes in the form of Staples eCash cards.
If you trade in your old iPhone at Staples and sign up for a two-year contract with Verizon, you’ll get a $200 eCash card that you can then use to pay the $199 for your phone.
Target
The folks at Target’s mobility stores are accepting trade-ins on your old iPhone, and they look mighty appealing. Customers who trade in their iPhone 5s will get a least $200 worth of in-store credits that they can then use to purchase an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. iPhone 5 and 5c owners will get at least $125 for their old handsets, while iPhone 4s owners get $100. Even if you’re hanging on to your old iPhone 4, Target will get you at least $50.
Walmart/Sam’s Club
Attention, Walmart shoppers. This retail behemoth is selling the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus at a slight discount: $179 for the 16 GB iPhone 6 and $279 for the iPhone 6 Plus. But you’ll have to preorder the phones before you pick them up on Friday, according to CNET. What’s more, Walmart is offering a $15 gift card with your preorder.
Walmart’s subsidiary, Sam’s Club, is also offering a price break on preorders for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, selling the handsets for $177 and $277 respectively. Both Walmart and Sam’s Club are accepting trade-ins on your old smartphones, though there are no guaranteed prices.
