Llia Apostolou sent out a tweet looking for a date to her sister’s nuptials on June 6, 2014. “Are you a man? Can I borrow you for a wedding next week? Bonus points if you can source a baby that I can pretend is mine too,” she hilariously wrote. To which a man named Phil Gibson immediately replied.

The eager response seemed to quickly catch Apostolou’s attention, which incited an ongoing — and flirty — thread. The two went from chatting about the wedding, to discussing meeting Gibson’s grandmother. And while it was all fun and games at the time, it turned out to be quite telling of their true future.

Coincidentally enough, Apostolou did end up discussing her own wedding with Gibson, as he later became her fiancé and now husband. The initial announcement came on Tuesday, via Twitter of course, when Gibson posted a photo of the two after filing their wedding license.

On Wednesday, Apostolou followed up with a tweet of her own to announce the exciting and ironic news. She sweetly re-tweeted the thread of her and Gibson’s original conversation, so people could see where it truly all began.

The tweet, which has garnered over 51,000 likes, reflects a storyline she admits to dreaming about since their first online encounter. But never had she believed that it would actually happen.

The announcement tweets have been met with many congratulations, aside from one skeptic who’s wondering if this love story is too good to be true.

As for the couple, they are off enjoying their honeymoon – which they gave a sneak peek of on their forever favorite social network.
