James Corden may be the host of the Late Late Show, but it seems he's not afraid to dip his toes into singing, acting, and even...soap opera drama. That's right, in one of his latest skits, he and actors Claire Danes, Christine Baranski, and Jack McBrayer star in "The Bold and the Lyrical," and – you guessed it – all of the lines are lyrics from Katy Perry songs.
James wakes up in a hotel room, holding a cherry chapstick. He says: "There's a pounding in my head, there's a stranger in my bed." Claire Danes then pops up next to him and says: "That's what you get for waking up in Vegas." They go onto say that they are now "wide awake," and then they realize that they "got hitched" the night prior. As the drama continues to unfold, James's boo comes into the room, and then there is a confrontation. The whole thing comes full circle with the repetition of the final line: "That's what you get for waking up in Vegas."
Of course, this is not the first time James has taken to theatrics. He recently "starred" in the Beauty and the Beast crosswalk musical. Though he wasn't able to nab Katy Perry to act in the skit (which we argue that would truly have taken it to the next level) James and company did an incredible job.
Previously, James did the same skit using Beyoncé, Justin Bieber and Kanye West songs. Be that as it is, we think this was the firework of all the episodes.
