Van Gogh + Audrey Hepburn + A Bird’s Nest = Michael Kors SS16
The clothes were classic Michael Kors on his SS16 runway in New York this morning: romantic, relaxed, and feminine. There were low-slung trousers and loose-fitting trench coats, but also nipped waist silhouettes reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. If, of course, you’d smothered her skirt in 3D embellishments of Van Gogh’s famous painting: Poppies and Daisies. The former flower popped up on bohemian dresses, too, in vivid red and blue prints.
To balance the whole thing out, the hair was messy—like really messy. The kind where you wake up and it looks like a bird’s nest and the only thing to do is throw it back with the nearest pin you can find. Barely there makeup—a sweep of bronzer and plenty of illuminator—lent the whole thing a bit of downtown cool. That, and Kendall Jenner, of course.
