If you're looking for a last-minute flight deal, stop your search now. In fact, just skip to the "learn how to book" section, because flight deals a month—let alone a few weeks—out from the departure date are rare. But thanks to a multi-airline flight deal to Spain that has availability in April, May, and June, the spontaneous traveler can nail down some last-minute spring travel plans. Looking for a Spanish getaway trip later this year, or need a convincing reason to spend Thanksgiving in España? Keep reading, as the deal is available again from August all the way through February 2018.
We've been seeing tons of fall flights deals cropping up, and Spain has just been added to the low fare melee. In fact, round-trip flights to 12 Spanish cities from the U.S. are as low as $324 (and only bounce up to $479 from the West Coast). The flights on a number of full-service SkyTeam, Star Alliance, and OneWorld carriers like Delta, TAP Portugal, United, Lufthansa, American, or British Airways mean you could be spending November 23 eating cuttlefish fritters and Iberian sausage at Paco Meralgo instead of tucking into turkey with your in-laws.
For travelers heading out of New York City, Miami, and Boston, there are an array of destination cities: popular hubs like Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, and Granada; some of team Traveler's favorite coastal towns like Málaga and Valencia; medieval northwestern cities like La Coruna, Santiago de Compostela, and Vigo; and even Mediterranean islands like Menorca and Palma de Mallorca, which are worth visiting even when the beach gets too cold. (At least, that's what Rafael Nadal told us.) Travelers leaving from Philadelphia have their pick of Madrid or Barcelona, while those leaving from San Francisco or Los Angeles can fly to Barcelona.
How to book: You'll have to play around with dates on this deal, as the range varies by departure city, according to Scott Keyes of Scott's Cheap Flights. Thanksgiving is included, but you'll have to find somewhere else for Christmas and New Year's celebrations, as those late December dates are excluded. Poke around on Google flights and look for green-highlighted lowest fares in the search engines calendar feature to help find the right dates.
