Tumblr of the Day: African Wildlife Foundation

The African Wildlife Foundation has done a smart thing with this blog: It puts African animals, in all their glory, front and center. They’re romping or chilling in their native habitats, which makes this a terrific virtual safari (the camera kind, not the hunting kind!) for those of us not lucky enough to be there in person.

It’s not just elephants and giraffes, although there are plenty of those. We get the scaly pangolin and the now-infamous honey badger. Oh, and the blog sometimes features the human animal, too — a species whose help is crucial in the survival of the rest. Not only are the photos gorgeous, the blog itself is also well organized and chock full of accessible information about what we’re seeing.
