Red carpet fashion is such a big draw to the Academy Awards, correspondents have to choose their outfits almost as carefully as the nominees themselves. Carla Hall, co-host of The Chew, decided to get a little help and is crowdsourcing her options before the big night, giving fans a stylish preview in the process.

“I’m headed to the Oscars red carpet this weekend and trying to decide which dress I should wear. Which one do you like best?” the Top Chef alumna, 52, wrote on Facebook Friday, posting 15 photos of herself modeling various gowns — and racking up thousands of eager opinions.

While weighing in on the various looks, which included an off-the-shoulder orange gown, a white top and skirt, a sparkly burgundy tank dress, and a black-and-white belted number, commenters didn’t hold back.

“The coral one is my hands-down favorite, followed by the blue,” wrote one fan. Another opined, “The silver is perfect!”

Of course, any lively debate includes constructive criticism: “Just don’t wear the last one. It looks like foil. No disrespect,” wrote one of Hall’s silver dress.

“Color is beautiful, but it looks too much like a nightgown,” another remarked on a blue gown.

“I like everything, except that white front panel,” said another. “That says pilgrim-napkin-bib.”

Hall has always been an open book — she once said the best thing about marriage is going to the bathroom with the door open — so it makes sense that she’s giving fans a voyeuristic peek at her Oscar prep. Amid rumors about paid fashion endorsements, militant exercise regimes, and oxygen chamber beauty treatments, it’s also refreshing to see a celebrity struggle with her outfit before a big event, just like anyone else.
