Tony Leung craves to do more comedy movies

10 Dec - Tony Leung recently revealed that it was the comedy genre that attracted him to star in Zhang Jiajia's directorial debut, "See You Tomorrow" in the first place.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the actor, who spoke to the media to promote the upcoming movie recently, stated that after working on too many dramatic roles - the last one being Wong Kar Wai's "The Grandmaster" - he craved for something light and funny.

"Making comedy is pretty fun. I haven't had the chance to do it in so many years," said Tony, who has starred in comedy films such as "Chinese Odyssey 2002", and "Gorgeous".

"See You Tomorrow" also marks his first comedy with Takeshi Kaneshiro, whom he last worked with on "Red Cliff".

"It is pretty interesting. We have a lot chemistry but we didn't improvise at all. We really followed the script," he said.

When asked if that wanting to do comedy was the reason why he rejected a lot of other movie offers, Tony responded, "Don't say that I turn them down. I just take what I want to make."

On the other hand, Tony is set to work on another comedy, "Monster Hunt 2" soon.
