'Scandal'-ous President Tony Goldwyn Has No Problem Stripping Down

Scandal’s main man, Tony Goldwyn plays the President of the United States, and Kerry Washington’s secret lover. Goldwyn who is 54 and handsome as ever, joined in some pretty sexy, and at times, awkward scenes in this wildly popular series. He was recently on the Ellen show to discuss some of the “in-your-face scenes.” Yahoo Style caught up with Goldwyn at GQ’s Men of New York party last night to discuss his image on television.
Yahoo Style: What’s it like being 54 and shirtless on television?
Tony Goldwyn: It’s very stressful!
YS: You look so good!
TG: I feel very pleased to represent middle-aged men. Age is really just a state of mind.
YS: So are you feeling youthful?
TG: I’ve always felt pretty youthful in my attitude towards life, and my attitude towards taking care of myself. Being naked on television puts a certain amount of pressure on me that I have to stay in shape.
YS: When a naked scene is written, do you have much time to train?
TG: I really don’t have much time to read the script. You know, I always laugh because it’s either Scott Foley (Jake Ballard) or myself who’s shirtless.
YS: So no running to the gym the night before filming to lift some weights?
TG: Well, you have about a week to get your shit together.
YS: How about those awkward phone sex scenes on ABC television?
TG: Oddly, we did not do phone sex in drama school!
