And Ryan Gosling did not bring his better half, Eva Mendes, despite speculation that the two would finally appear together in public — especially given that he thanked her during his recent Golden Globes speech. Instead, Gosling’s sister, Mandi Gosling, was his Oscars-night date.

Lin-Manuel Miranda has wanted to bring his mom to the Oscars ever since he was a 10-year-old kid. And finally, his dream came true, thanks to Moana. His mother, Luz Towns-Miranda, watched Gilmore Girls en route to the Academy Awards, he tweeted. Hard to get cuter than that.
