This Split-Face Beauty Transformation Will Blow Your Mind
We’ve all watched Youtube tutorials showing makeup’s transformative powers, but we’ve never seen one quite as captivating as this.
Originally uploaded in May, the video shows beauty vlogger Nikkie Tutorials dolling up half of her face, step-by-step, while leaving the other side completely bare. (Think Two-Face, but way, way prettier!) To date, it’s been viewed nearly 10 million times.
Even from the very beginning, the difference between Nikkie’s right and left side is striking: Foundation changes her complexion entirely, shadow and liner alter the shape of her eye, powder sculpts her cheeks and jawline, and a simple brown pencil gives her some one seriously enviable brow.
“I’ve been noticing a lot, lately, that girls have been almost ashamed to say that they love makeup,” says Nikkie. “Nowadays, when you say you love makeup, you either do it because you want to look good for boys, you do it because you’re insecure, or you do it because you don’t love yourself. I feel like lately, it’s almost a crime to love doing your makeup.”
It’s clear from this video that Nikkie doesn’t fit into any of those pigeon-holing categories, and thank god. Whether you love makeup or hate makeup, you can’t deny that she’s one crazy-talented lady.
