This Coffee Shop Is Staffed Exclusively by Shirtless Men

When news broke that a new coffee shop in Spokane, Washington, called—wait for it—Hot Cup of Joe would employ a staff of shirtless male baristas, the internet anxiously awaited photos from today’s grand opening.

As always, Twitter delivered. Behold: these pictures, courtesy of local radio station KISM’s Brad and John show.

That’s a lot of Torani syrup bottles.

Spokane: A now more… interesting place to live. The city is also home to this terrible bar and Big Shots Espresso, which made the media rounds a few years ago for its bikini-clad baristas. (They’ve since switched over to lingerie.)

Hot Cup of Joe is, obviously, not one of the so-called “breastaurants” that have enjoyed a booming business in recent years. Yet we imagine Hot Cup of Joe owes its existence, in part, to the success of such restaurants.

This is something the women have been crying out for for a while,” owner Chris Mullins told The Spokesman-Review.

Despite these apparent advances in gender equality (on the half-naked barista front), we do hope these folks are being careful carrying scalding beverages around.
