The Future is Here: Selfie Shoes by Miz Mooz

For thousands of people gearing up to hit Coachella and Lollapalooza, horrible news emerged this morning: festivals are banning selfie sticks. How could they do this? Don’t they know how important selfies are as a tool to create memories that will last a lifetime/inspire FOMO in friends who couldn’t get vacation time?

Ugh.

Well it seems like the gods heard the collective despair of an entire demographic because shoe label Miz Mooz just announced a new design that will revolutionize the market: The Selfie Shoe.

The shoe features an extended toe that comfortably fits a phone, controlled with the toes, that lets you take a selfie whether you’re a righty or a lefty. Of course, new technology inevitably breeds new problems, and the Selfie Shoe is not exempt. For those who lack in the flexibility department, it could be embarrassing to find out that all your selfies are now “waifies,” aka selfies of your waist. There’s also the issue of wardrobe malfunctions, one must be careful where one raises a leg, perhaps the Selfie Shoe should also come with little running shorts to wear underneath all dresses and skirts. Take note: snapping a selfie while wearing a body-con dress simply will NOT do, so don’t try it!

Still, it is good to see that companies are embracing new developments in culture and technology (even if it is for the sake of April’s first holiday) and discovering new ways to bring the two together. If it is a joke, many might be disappointed. There’s a waiting list to snap up a pair! Grab your Miz Mooz Selfie Shoes and head to your favorite music festivals! Just please leave the flower crown at home, OK?
