Taylor Swift Wore a $98 Sweater to Surprise 96-Year-Old Superfan

What does one wear to meet a 96-year-old superfan? Why, a $98 sweater, of course!

Swift surprised World War II veteran Cyrus Porter at his family gathering in New Madrid, Miss., on Dec. 26. For the special occasion, Swift didn’t want to stand out in some flashy celeb ensemble. Instead, she wore a simple beige ribbed sweater from Everlane. The V-neck sweater with dropped shoulder seams was appropriately comfy-casual.

The celeb-approved wool and cashmere sweater is only $98, which is definitely not a bargain price, but relatively inexpensive compared to the rest of Swift’s closet.

Swift’s sweater is described by Everlane: “Dropped shoulder seams and a wide V-neck give this sweater — which we made from a unique blend of cashmere and Italian-milled merino wool — an easy, relaxed feel.”

She paired the sweater with simple black pants to take selfies with and perform for this lucky family. She faced the cold with a leather and shearling lined coat.
