There’s something very serene and otherworldly about the desert. Despite often appearing still and stagnant, it’s actually teeming with life — there to see if you look hard enough. And, as any Ansel Adams fan will tell you, this curious and unique landscape also happens to be quite picturesque. It’s for those reasons and more that lately we’ve become fairly obsessed with the concept of saying “I do” in the desert.
Jenny just found herself on a new block! On Wednesday, J.Lo kicked off her Las Vegas residency for Jennifer Lopez: All I Have , making her mark on the storied strip just like fellow songstresses Cher, Mariah, and Céline. And it wouldn’t be a Lopez production without costumes that are bright, tight, and sparkly . Before slipping into a form-fitting Gabriela Cadena white dress to celebrate her opening night, the 46-year-old (what!?) took to the stage in seven next-to-naked (plus or minus some pelage and plumage) ensembles created by some of her favorite designers. Zuhair Murad was the force behind three looks. Another three, designed by Donatella Versace with the help of costume designers Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, were emblazoned with 260,000 Swarovski crystals in a wide range of colors to make crystal-mesh panels and 100 feet of jeweled chains. As if those numbers don’t subdue the surprise factor, Vogue reports that the three outfits took more than 1,400 hours and over two months to create. Just because she sang “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” doesn’t mean the same holds true for the bedazzling costumes! This weekend, the Electronic Daisy Carnival is taking over Las Vegas. To get you in the mood, we've culled some stylish gear worthy of your own fashion rave. If you can't make it to Vegas, don't fret.
It’s not much of a stretch to say Britney Spears can make it through anything. While on stage during her Las Vegas residency, the “Hit Me Baby One More Time” singer suffered a loss of extension. Without a little help from fake hair, Spears actually has a lob which she cut in late 2014.
Check out these seven extreme adventures, which will have you riding in a Ferrari F430GT in Las Vegas or driving a tank in Minnesota.
The Route: From Las Vegas, take I-15 to St. George. Next up: Route 389, which will take you back to Vegas. The multicolor landscapes and remote, wide-open ribbons of pavement of America’s Southwest will never get old for me.
You’re eating tapas at an outdoor restaurant in Barcelona, your iPhone on the table a few inches from your right hand, when a woman bumps your left arm and spills a drink on you. Unfortunately, you’ve just become a statistic, one of thousands of daily victims of “Apple picking,” a crime trend aimed at the owners of iPhones and iPads. In this example, the crime was in Barcelona, known for its petty thievery and pickpockets.
