Is Stephen Colbert Running for President for Real?

He said he's going to do it.

The 2020 presidential election is shaping up to be a star-studded affair. Both Kanye West and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson have hinted they might run for the nation's top position in the next election, and now, they could be going up against Stephen Colbert—or was he joking?

The 53-year-old host of The Late Show is currently visiting Russia, and he appeared on a Russian late show, Evening Urgant, last night. With the show's host, Ivan Urgant, Colbert played a vodka-driven game of Russian Roulette, and he used the air time to make a big announcement.

"OK. I am here to announce that I am considering a run for president in 2020, and I thought it would be better to cut out the middle man and just tell the Russians myself," Colbert said on the show.

"If anyone would like to work on my campaign in an unofficial capacity, please just let me know," he continued.

In response, Urgant said, "It's a pleasure to drink with the future U.S. President. To you, Stephen. I wish you luck. We will do everything we can so you become president."

Obviously the two were poking fun at the allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 election, but how amazing would it be if Colbert was serious about his presidential bid?
