Sarah Jessica Parker Launches New Line of Handbags

Sarah Jessica Parker is known for her avant-garde sartorial choices. In the past, Parker has been spotted wearing everything from a clear plastic Valentino dress fresh off the runway to a Hamilton-inspired look at the Met Gala.

What has the style icon been up to lately? She is launching her newest collection of handbags as part of the SJP fashion brand offerings. The SJP collection, titled the Seven Essentials, will include seven new handbag styles, all of which will be made right here in the U.S.

In contrast to her SJP footwear collection (which is Italian-made), this handbag line won’t include the usual glitzy details like sequins and embellishments. Rather, these bags are meant to be used on an everyday basis, for the modern working woman.

Square tote bags, hobo-style bags, and convertible tote/backpacks are just a few of the styles available in neutral colorways like tan, black, and slate gray. These classic bag silhouettes have extreme versatility. Whether you’re heading to work, to a date, or both, these handbags are meant to complement any look for a woman on the go.

But what’s SJP without a little glamour? The new collection will also offer a selection of evening clutches in more vibrant shades like hot pink, crimson red, and metallic silver.

The collection retails for $395-$695 and is available for preorder on Bloomingdales.com now and on Amazon Fashion and Zappos.com within the next few weeks. However, if you find yourself in Maryland, you can scoop up a bag at MGM National Harbor, where they are available for purchase today.
