Ryan Seacrest Will Take a Seat Next to Kelly Ripa

From Redbook

Now that Ryan Seacrest has American Idol off his plate, could he be looking for another high-profile gig?

The ubiquitous reality TV host will be sitting in with his good pal Kelly Ripa on Live With Kelly, according to Entertainment Tonight.

"I'm sitting there for one day in June and can't wait to do that," Seacrest told the outlet. "She's asked me to come on for a day right at the beginning of June, and so I'm looking forward to hugging her and seeing her."

He added: "I've known Kelly forever. She's phenomenal, so to get a chance to sit by her for a day is a blessing."

When Regis Philbin left the show in 2012, there was a year of auditions that, of course, ended with Michael Strahan getting the job. Strahan's last day was Friday-though he doesn't start his new position at Good Morning America until the fall. Ripa's first round of fill-ins have included Jimmy Kimmel and Empire star Jussie Smollett Tuesday.

Could Seacrest be thinking about a full-time spot next to his pal Ripa?

"I think that would be impossible since I have to work here every day," he told ET about his daily radio show, On Air With Ryan Seacrest. "That decision isn't mine to make. I think I have to get up here every day and go on the air!"
