You probably recognize the writer-director of Reese Witherspoon's new movie from 'The Parent Trap'

Hallie Meyers-Shyer, the director of Reese Witherspoon’s new movie, Home Again, may look familiar. It’s in part because Hallie is the daughter of rom-com writing goddess Nancy Meyers, and she looks an awful lot like her mom, who’s written The Holiday, The Intern, Something’s Gotta Give, Father of the Bride parts 1 and 2, and more amazing movies. But there’s something else familiar about Hallie.

Think back to Nancy’s remake of The Parent Trap.

Now picture Hallie as a little girl with shaving cream around her head. Yes, Hallie actually made a cameo in the 1998 film’s infamous prank scene, when the character Hallie (who’s named after Nancy’s daughter, actually), played by Lindsay Lohan, crafts a wig out of shaving cream around an innocent sleeping camper’s head as part of a prank. The victim was Hallie Meyers-Shyer.

Chances are you noticed Hallie in other Nancy Meyers films, like both Father of the Bride films and What Women Want, which her mom directed. So, basically, Hallie has been surrounded by the best rom-coms her entire life.

That little girl is all grown up and making her directorial and writing debut with Home Again, with her brilliant mother close by serving as a producer on the film.

Meyers, who can rock the heck out of a frilly dress or pantsuit, has also passed on her style skills to her daughter. Last night, Hallie hit the red carpet for the New York City premiere of Home Again in a tea-length navy blue wrap dress paired with maroon velvet pumps we need in our closet. Her hair was in loose, long waves.

Thank you for following along with #HomeAgainMovie tonight! See it in theaters this Friday!

A few nights before, Mom joined her stylish daughter on the red carpet at the L.A. premiere, showing us where Hallie got her style savvy. She wore a black shift dress with ruffles on the skirt and sleeves, accented by a chunky beaded necklace, while her stylish daughter wore a fun floral blouse and a long black skirt.

We couldn’t dream up a better mother-daughter duo.
