Ever since Pippa Middleton got engaged last summer to her financier boo, James Matthews, we've been waiting on pins and needles for wedding details. Will her nuptials be as splashy as the 2011 royal wedding? Will Middleton's bridesmaids resemble the time she was a bridesmaid herself back in 1991? Will the Queen make an appearance? (Is it really a wedding if the Queen doesn't come?)
Well, we don't have the answers to those specific questions, but we do have some exciting tea about Middleton's upcoming wedding. E! Online reports that Middleton and Matthews will be married on May 20, 2017 at St Marks Englefield church in the United Kingdom. E! reports that the royal family will attend the ceremony, including Middleton's sister, Kate, Prince William, and Prince Harry. (So, this does mean the Queen is coming?!) As for the royal children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, they'll be more than just guests at this wedding. Per E!, Princess Charlotte will serve as a bridesmaid, which is perhaps the cutest idea ever, and Prince George will be a page boy. (For those of you not caught up on wedding lingo—cough, me, cough—a page boy is a wedding attendant of sorts who carries the bride's train, among other duties. In other words, expect a very cute mini-tuxedo.)
Matthews, who runs Eden Rock Capital Management, reportedly proposed to Pippa Middleton in England’s Lake District back in July 2016. The couple began dating in 2012 but remained broken up for several years. They reunited for a vacation in January 2016, and the rest is (royal-adjacent) history.
Naturally, Middleton's engagement ring, which features an Asscher-cut diamond set in a diamond halo, is stunning. Check it out for yourself here.
Congratulations to the happy couple! Here's hoping their nuptials are televised (or, at the very least, live-tweeted) so we can relive the royal wedding all over again.
