Britney Spears, the New ‘Queen of Vegas,’ Buys $7.4 Million L.A. Mountain Retreat

Unlike most of us, Britney Spears only gets richer when she goes to Vegas, and now she has a new house to prove it.

Variety reports that Spears just dropped  $7.4 million for a 12,464-square-foot, five bedroom, 7.5 bathroom home in Thousand Oaks, California.

She can certainly afford it. While Spears hasn’t released an album in a few years, she has been raking it in performing in Las Vegas.

Just last month, TMZ crowned her the “reigning queen of Vegas” after she extended her two-year residency show, “Britney: Piece of Me,” at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino to 2017. TMZ reports the contract she signed for the first two-year residency, which began in 2013, paid her more than $30 million. Her current deal reportedly is even more lucrative, putting her in range to make “Celine Dion money” (Celine is the highest paid singer on the Strip).

Even though Spears has some cash to burn, she got a good deal on her reported new house, a good thing since she’ll have to be in Vegas part-time. Since the home’s construction in 2000, records show it has spent a lot of time on the market; at one point, its asking price was $11.995 — that’s $4.5 million than what Spears reportedly paid for it.

The ginormous classic Italian villa sits on more than 20 acres of hilltop terrain, giving the singer gorgeous mountain views.

The spread has lots of amenities Spears and her two boys, 10-year-old Sean and 9-year-old Jayden James, could enjoy, including a big media/game room, a 3,500-bottle, temperature-controlled wine cellar, manicured grounds, a lighted tennis court, an infinity pool, spa, orchard, and a three-green golf course with sand traps, should the family take up golf.

Spears reportedly owns another home in the area but, according to TMZ, she’s living in a rental now.
