There has been no shortage of red-carpet excellence in the last few weeks — a season of awards demands nothing less. But one look in particular stood out to us among the likes of some very stunning and classy ensembles this weekend. We speak of the inimitable Penélope Cruz, who appeared this weekend in Madrid at the Goya Awards.
Draped in a classic silhouette, baring just the right hints of her frame, Cruz stepped onto the red carpet in all-black care of Versace. Evoking a golden age of cinema, her sophisticated, yet still sexy outfit captured the imagination of the paparazzi, with a number of stellar shots coming through the wires.
Cruz attended the Spanish awards ceremony with legendary director Pedro Almodovar, who last directed the 42-year-old actress in the 2009 film Broken Embraces.
Cruz continues to stay busy in her esteemed career with a number of projects in the works, including Escobar, with her husband, Javier Bardem, based on the affair between notorious drug kingpin Pablo Escobar and journalist Virginia Vallejo.
