Olivia Wilde Bares Her Baby Bump in Second-Skin, Cutout Dress at CFDA Awards: 'The Tighter, the Better'
Hot mom in the city! Olivia Wilde feels really sexy while pregnant, and she’s not afraid to show it. The expectant star stepped out at CFDA Awards in a gown that put her bump — and body — on full display.
The open-stomach, forest green Rosie Assoulin dress was an easy choice for Wilde, who likes to eschew typical maternity wear when it comes to red carpet events.
“For pregnancy, I don’t wear empire waists — I don’t think it’s necessary,” the 32-year-old actress told PeopleStyle of her pregnant dressing MO. “I don’t think people should hide their bump. I don’t think it’s flattering. I think you go the tighter the better. It’s all about flaunting your curves. And just in general about fashion, it should feel effortless. If it feels effortless, it looks effortless. If you put effort into it, everyone knows it.”

She also praised Assoulin for creating “designs that are structurally interesting without looking overly fussy.”
“If you saw someone walking into a party wearing one of these looks, you’d say, ‘Who is that. I want to be that woman,'” she shared. “So tonight, I get to be that woman for one night.”
The dress features a “bit of stretch,” for “the growing mom,” according to Wilde. “It is a gorgeous time. And there is no reason to hide it.”
Assoulin, who calls the Vinyl star “our ultimate cool girl,” added that dressing the actress was “the easiest job in the world.”
Wilde completed her look with coordinating green eyeshadow, a coral lip, plus a choker and an iridescent pink box clutch.

Earlier this year, Wilde told PEOPLE that her most memorable style moment of all time was when she topped best dressed lists in a second-skin, sequin, emerald Gucci gown. And she was pregnant with her son Otis!
“I was six months pregnant last time I presented, and I was thrilled to be there. I was so happy. And it’s just a nice moment to share with my son in a funny way,” she told PEOPLE. “We went there together. Karla Welch is my stylist, and she’s really brilliant. And together, we showed that pregnant women can still be sexy. And there’s no need to disguise yourself in lots of layers and Gucci made a beautiful dress.”
It’s a fact: Wilde’s bump is her favorite red carpet accessory.
