Well, check out this good-lookin' duo! OITNB star Samira Wiley and her wife, who's also a former OITNB writer, Lauren Morelli, have officially made their red-carpet debut as a married couple—and they slayed. The two attended the premiere of Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale in Hollywood on Tuesday, April 25.
On the carpet, Wiley donned a Rubin Singer black and emerald-green cocktail dress, while Morelli looked chic as ever in an all-black lace gown. Fresh off their picture-perfect Italian honeymoon, to which Wiley told People was "awesome," the OITNB star dished on life after their nuptials. "A gumdrop!" she cheekily confessed—and who could deny it?! Their bright eyes and cheek-to-cheek grins say it all. See the cute Instagram photos here.
Wiley and Morelli kickstarted their honeymoon with a trip to the happiest place on earth. You guessed it: Disneyland! They couldn't help but post adorable photos during their magical adventure, with one of personalized Mickey Mouse ears with "Mrs. Morelli" sown to the front in glittery words. After that, it was off to Florence!
The gorgeous couple wed during an intimate ceremony in Palm Springs, California, on March 25, in the same location where Morelli popped the question back in October of last year. At the venue, the duo hosted a reception filled with confetti, inspired by their mutual love of Pillsbury Funfetti cake (so good!). The romantic ceremony was officiated by Wiley's parents, and the couple walked down the aisle to Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It," just before making their grand entrance to the reception area to Justin Bieber's "Baby."
If you thought their wedding ceremony was one to remember, the story behind their engagement is enough to make you grab the tissues. During an interview with Out magazine, both Wiley and Morelli dished on the details: "She asked me to sit next to her," Wiley said of the proposal. "Then she got me up, and we started dancing together, and she pulled a ring from behind the couch. Lauren has been married before, so I wanted her to tell me she was ready, her to be the one to propose. I didn't know she was as ready as she was."
