Of Course, Taylor Swift’s 4th of July Swimsuits Broke the Internet

This weekend, our Instagram feeds were inundated with photos of Taylor Swift and her curated BFFs at her Fourth of July celebration, gleefully slipping down waterslides, posing underneath the fireworks and having good old-fashioned American fun – while dressed in a range of festive red, white, and blue attire. Some of Swift’s looks included a striped swimsuit from cult brand Solid and Striped, as well as a red bikini top with the word “America” emblazoned on the front from Forever 21. Swift’s America bikini top has since sold out (though the bottoms are still available). According to ELLE, Solid and Striped enjoyed a 365 percent jump in searches on Lyst just after the photos of the fun-filled weekend were released.

This isn’t the first time Swift’s looks have inspired a shopping frenzy. The singer was spied a mere two weeks ago in a checkered Reformation dress, which is already sold out in that color. We wager Taylor’s endorsement may not have hurt sales.

Things tend to sell out when celebrities wear them — it’s why so many brands scramble to get their attire on certain people. From Michelle Obama to Kim Kardashian, if a popular celebrity is wearing something, especially something the average person can afford, it’s going to be everywhere. The summer has only just started, but there’s plenty more time left — and we don’t doubt Taylor has a few more summery looks up her sleeve that will cause the masses to whip out their credit cards.
